E-hailing car skids, crash kills 19-year-old passenger

SHAH ALAM – A 19-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured after a Perodua Bezza, believed to be operating as an e-hailing vehicle, crashed into a metal road divider along Jalan Puchong Batu 14 last night.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received a distress call at 10.15pm.

“A team of eight firefighters from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene using one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle,” he said.

He confirmed the incident involved a Perodua Bezza, believed to be operated by an e-hailing driver, which skidded and crashed into a road divider.

“There were three victims; a 49-year-old man who was the driver and two passengers, a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman.

"The driver and the male passenger sustained minor injuries, while the female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.

Mukhlis added that the injured victims were sent to the hospital for further treatment, while the deceased was handed over to the police for further action.
