SHAH ALAM – What if art could breathe, move and even respond to you?

That’s the idea behind “State of Mind: The Art of Wellness”, a new art and tech experience now running at KLGCC Mall from Oct 24 to Nov 7.

Part art exhibition, part digital playground, the event transforms Level 3 and 4 of the mall’s Amphitheatre into an immersive world where creativity meets technology and where wellness is explored through colour, movement and imagination.

The highlight is the MahsuriShark’s AR Gallery, where traditional art gets a futuristic twist.

Visitors can “step into” paintings that come to life through Augmented Reality, turning brushstrokes into motion and emotion.

Imagine standing before a canvas and watching it breathe, bloom and shimmer as you move closer. It’s art you don’t just see; you experience.

The exhibition also celebrates both local and international talents, from rising Malaysian names like Anaz Khalid, Venie Tee and Wesley Wong to global creators such as Mandakini (India) and Nadia (Norway).

Visitors can also expect works from established masters like Ali Nurazmal and a special showcase by South Korean artist Jake Lee, bridging cultures through the shared language of visual expression.

But the innovation doesn’t stop there.

On Level 4, visitors are invited to be part of a record-breaking moment, helping to build Malaysia’s largest community-driven virtual sculpture, a project aimed at entering the Malaysian Book of Records.

Every participant adds their digital touch, literally shaping a piece of living art that represents collective creativity and wellness.

Sime Darby Property Berhad's chief executive officer and group managing director, Datuk Seri Azmir Merican said the initiative reflects the company’s vision of placemaking with purpose, creating developments that nurture not only lifestyle but also wellbeing and inclusivity.

“Held in conjunction with CIMB Artober Art & Soul 2025, MahsuriShark and our wellness partners, this initiative shows what is possible when creativity serves the community.

“Together, we are bringing people closer through art that speaks to both the heart and the mind,” he said in a statement.

CIMB Group chief brand and marketing officer Toni Darusman said CIMB Artober 2025, Malaysia’s leading celebration of art and creativity, continues to uphold its commitment to supporting the nation’s cultural and wellness ecosystem.

“CIMB Artober is about more than celebrating art. It’s about connecting people through shared experiences.

“State of Mind reflects the power of collaboration across corporate, creative and community partners in building a healthier, more compassionate society,” he said.

MahsuriShark Gallery curator and founder Mahsuri Sharkawi said art serves as both a mirror and a form of healing.

“Through augmented reality, emotion and storytelling, we invite everyone, from students to world leaders, to pause, breathe and rediscover balance within themselves,” she added.

Open daily from 10am, “State of Mind: The Art of Wellness” is not just an art show; it’s an experience designed to calm, inspire and connect.

Whether you’re an art lover, a tech enthusiast, or simply curious about how creativity can heal the mind, this is your chance to see art in motion and be part of something extraordinary.

The exhibition runs until Nov 7 and admission is open to the public.
