Motorcyclist dies instantly after striking horse in Merlimau
Initial investigations revealed that the victim, who was riding a Yamaha Y16ZR motorcycle, was travelling from Serkam towards Semujuk.

JASIN – A man on his way to work was killed after his motorcycle collided with a horse that suddenly crossed the road at Jalan Sempang Bukit Kuda, Merlimau, early Tuesday morning.
In the incident that occurred around 7.10am, the victim, Rajak Ismail, 59, who worked as a cleaner at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Jasin, died at the scene.

Acting Jasin District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Nor Azlinda Nordin said initial investigations revealed that the victim, who was riding a Yamaha Y16ZR motorcycle, was travelling from Serkam towards Semujuk.
“However, upon reaching the location, the victim’s motorcycle collided with the animal, which was crossing from the left side of the road.
“As a result of the collision, the victim sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” she said in a statement on Tuesday.
The victim’s body was later taken to the Forensic Unit of Jasin Hospital for a post-mortem examination before being claimed by family members.
She added that investigations found no closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in the surrounding area and police have located and interviewed the horse’s owner to facilitate the investigation.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” she added.
