PETALING JAYA – Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali insists that differing opinions within the party reflect unity rather than conflict as the leadership moves to resolve internal issues.

He said the Supreme Leadership Council meeting on Tuesday night demonstrated the leadership’s maturity in addressing issues with decorum and a familial spirit.

"It is not a ceasefire, we are not at war.

"We are only giving our views and perhaps those views differ," he said, adding that such differences strengthened the party by broadening perspectives.

Azmin said internal issues would be resolved harmoniously using mechanisms outlined in the party Constitution, including the Supreme Leadership Council, the Disciplinary Board and the Appeals Board.

He also said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin continued to command full confidence as Bersatu president.

"What we witnessed tonight (Tuesday) proves that Muhyiddin’s leadership is able to manage any crisis and arising matters with great wisdom.

"Members and leaders place high confidence in him to steer the party towards what benefits the people and the country," he said.

Azmin added that Bersatu and its Perikatan Nasional partners had finalised their consensus on seat distribution and candidates for the upcoming Sabah state election, with the announcement set for Nov 7 in Sandakan.
