KUALA LUMPUR – Sinar Harian continues to make its mark at the Perkeso Media Awards 2025 | I LINDUNG U, winning in the categories of Best Digital Media Report, Best Print Media Report and Best Podcast.
Sinar Harian’s Deputy News Editor, Mohd Ridzuan Abu Hassan, won first place for Best Digital Media Report, while second place in the Best Print Media Report category went to crime journalist Muhammad Afham Ramli.

Third place for Best Podcast was awarded to Nur Zilatulnaim Zulkafli from the lifestyle and entertainment portal Sinar Plus.
Ridzuan said this was the first time Sinar Harian submitted entries for the best digital media category, given that the newspaper’s main news delivery platform has always been print.
According to him, the shift towards digitalisation indicates that Sinar Harian, as a Malay-language newspaper brand, is evolving in its information delivery and journalistic practices.
“Newspapers are the roots and digital is the branch; both depend on each other. In the future, we will see where the leaves of this tree will grow.
“This means Sinar Harian will continue to deliver high-quality and trustworthy news to the public through social media and digital platforms, without neglecting the core content produced in print.
“With this recognition, we will continue to strengthen our efforts and mobilise our skilled journalists to pursue high-quality news content,” he told reporters at the Perkeso Media Awards 2025 | I Lindung U ceremony at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
The first-place winner took home RM3,000, while second and third place received RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively, along with trophies and certificates of appreciation presented by Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong.
The ceremony, themed “Perkeso Forever Protecting You,” was held to honour the individuals behind publications and news pieces who work tirelessly to deliver crucial information on social security protection to the public.
The contribution of media practitioners goes beyond reporting news; it has a profound impact in raising public awareness on the importance of social security under Perkeso.
A total of eight categories were contested to recognise high-impact works published between June 15, 2024 and August 31 this year.
The event, hosted by Nabil Ahmad and Sherry Al-Hadad, was enlivened by performances from renowned singers Datin Alyah and Ezad Lazim.
