Khairy denies knowing about Cabinet offer, calls rumours ‘speculation’
His response follows the Prime Minister’s statement on Wednesday, expressing surprise when asked about the possibility of the former Rembau MP joining the Cabinet soon.

KUALA LUMPUR – Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has denied knowing anything about claims that he was offered a position in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet, stressing that the rumours are purely speculative.
“I do not know anything (about the Cabinet offer). This is all speculation,” he said briefly when asked to comment on the recent circulating rumours.
Khairy made the remarks after attending the Bukit Damansara Residents Engagement Session with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) at the Bukit Damansara Community Centre on Friday.
His response follows the Prime Minister’s statement on Wednesday, expressing surprise when asked about the possibility of the former Rembau MP joining the Cabinet soon.
“Really? Who told you?” Anwar said with a smile when speaking to reporters after the National Development Symposium and National Development Awards 2025 programme on Wednesday.

Media reports previously suggested that a Cabinet reshuffle could be announced in early December, following several vacant ministerial posts.
Among the names mentioned was Khairy Jamaluddin, who was speculated to possibly return as Environment and Water Minister.
Khairy, who has held several key portfolios in previous administrations, has yet to confirm any interest or agreement regarding a new appointment.
His denial brings an end to the intense speculation that has surrounded the political scene over the past few days.
To date, no official announcement has been made by the government regarding a Cabinet reshuffle involving Khairy or other individuals.
