KUALA LUMPUR - Skechers has renewed its partnership with the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) for the second consecutive year, committing RM922,538 worth of footwear to support Malaysian athletes and officials competing at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand this December.

The brand will once again serve as the official footwear for the Malaysian contingent at the games, which are scheduled to take place from Dec 9 to Dec 20.

The collaboration was formally announced during a press conference at Skechers The Exchange TRX Mall on Wednesday, where the brand showcased its Hands Free Slip-ins® technologies designed to offer enhanced comfort and support.

This renewed cooperation marks Skechers’ second consecutive year partnering with OCM, following their successful collaboration for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The partnership highlights a shared commitment to celebrating Malaysian sporting excellence and ensuring athletes have access to high-quality off-field footwear that supports their performance needs.

The ceremony was witnessed by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, OCM Secretary General Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali, Skechers Southeast Asia Managing Director Zann Lee and several top national athletes.

As part of the sponsorship, Skechers Malaysia would provide 2,000 pairs of footwear for Team Malaysia’s athletes and officials to be worn during the Opening Ceremony and off-field activities throughout the Games.

Each recipient will receive a pair of Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins® Shoes featuring Skechers Air-Cooled Memory Foam® cushioned insoles for long-lasting comfort during extended training, travel hours and ceremonial events.

The sponsorship includes several models from Skechers’ acclaimed Max Cushioning® series:

  • Max Cushioning Premier 2.0 and GOrun Elevate 2.0 for men
  • Max Cushioning Elite 2.0 for women

These models are engineered with lightweight, responsive ULTRA GO® cushioning and Goodyear® Performance Outsoles, providing improved traction, stability and all-day support to help athletes stay relaxed between competitions.

OCM Secretary General Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali said the renewed partnership reflects a shared goal of uplifting Malaysian athletes.
