Three teens hauled to court for pulling down student’s pants in public

The trio were jointly accused of pushing the victim and pulling down his pants in front of others.

PARIT - Three teenage boys were charged in the magistrate’s court, here, today for humiliating a 13-year-old student in public, last week.

All the accused, aged 16, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read before magistrate Nurul Izalina Rajaai during a closed-door proceeding.

The trio were jointly accused of pushing the victim and pulling down his pants in front of others.

The offence was allegedly committed inside the hall of a secondary school here, at about 8.30am on Nov 14.

The charge was framed under Section 507B of the Penal Code read together with Section 34, which carries an imprisonment of up to three years, a fine, or both, if convicted.

The prosecution was handled by Inspector Mohd Syukri Abdul Talib, while all the accused were represented by lawyer Nur Nadzrah Badarudin from the National Legal Aid Foundation.

The three accused pleaded for minimum bail on the grounds that they were still in school and cited their families’ financial situation.

They were each granted RM500 bail by the court.

The court then fixed Dec 16 for mention to obtain a social behaviour report from the Social Welfare Department.
