SINAR DAILY REPORTER
SHAH ALAM - Malaysian parents, mark your calendars. This Wednesday (Nov 26) at 2pm, Sinar Daily will be going LIVE on TikTok with the premiere episode of its brand-new digital safety series, the #ThinkTwice Podcast and it’s an online conversation no parent should miss.
The debut episode, titled “Dear Parents: How to Raise Digital Natives Responsibly,” brings together three leading voices in Malaysia’s digital ecosystem to unpack the fast-changing online world our teens navigate every day.
The session will stream LIVE on TikTok at @sinardailymy, giving viewers the chance to learn, ask questions and get practical tips in real time.
Featured speakers, as seen in the promotional poster, include TikTok's Malaysia Head of Public Policy Firdaus Fadzil, Content Forum Chief Executive Officer Mediha Mahmood and Wan Fatin Sufina, a TikTok content creator who will also be giving her perspective as a parent.
Hosted by Sinar Daily’s Tasnim Lokman, the discussion goes beyond warning parents about online risks but shows them how to actively guide their children into becoming safer, smarter and more confident digital citizens.
The episode is structured around five core principles: pause, prevent, protect, empower and support.
These principles form the backbone of the podcast’s mission: equipping families with realistic strategies to navigate the digital landscape together.
Viewers can expect insights such as what teens are really doing online; how to manage online risks; and how empowerment beats restrictions.
Instead of banning apps or shutting down accounts, the podcast encourages parents to guide teens toward responsible usage: digital literacy, creativity, critical thinking and resilience.
The podcast will also chime in on Malaysia’s ongoing and controversial debate about raising the minimum age for social media access from 13 to 16.
Parents watching live will gain:
- Step-by-step safety tips they can use immediately
- An understanding of privacy settings, parental features, and reporting tools
- Advice on how to talk about difficult topics like online risks and preventing harm
- The confidence to raise responsible digital natives without fear or guesswork
Join the LIVE session this Wednesday at 2pm on Sinar Daily's TikTok @sinardailymy for the #ThinkTwice Podcast “Dear Parents: How to Raise Digital Natives Responsibly”.
