SHAH ALAM - Selangor FC winger Faisal Halim and his wife, Nur Syazwani Mizuana Shahril, have officially ended their six-year marriage after the Syariah court confirmed two separate pronouncements of talaq.
Faisal’s lawyer Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader said the Klang Syariah Lower Court validated the divorce after confirming both the first and second talaq.
The couple first divorced on June 11 but reconciled the same day, with the court acknowledging the reconciliation.
A second divorce pronouncement was later made on Nov 10, which the court also affirmed.
Akberdin said Syazwani is now observing her iddah period, which will continue until Jan 10. He added that negotiations over child custody and the division of matrimonial assets are still ongoing between both sides.

“So far, I have submitted a written proposal regarding child custody and the division of marital assets to Syazwani’s lawyer.
“I was informed that her lawyer will review it first before both parties reach an agreement.
“I understand they have responded positively to the proposal we provided,” he said.
On Sept 2, Syazwani had filed for divorce after six years of marriage, though a brief reconciliation followed when the couple shared photos together online.
However, by Nov 10, she appeared to hint that their relationship was once again on shaky ground.
Faisal, who scored the Best Goal of the 2023 Asian Cup, married Syazwani on March 9, 2019 after a four-month relationship. They share a son together.
