Syamsul Iskandar, Albert Tei arrive at court for corruption charges

Neither of them was handcuffed.

KUALA LUMPUR – Former Senior Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and businessman Albert Tei arrived at the Sessions Court at 8.05am today to face five corruption charges.

Shamsul Iskandar was dressed in a green batik shirt, while Albert wore a turquoise blue collared T-shirt as they were escorted by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.

Neither of them was handcuffed.

Earlier, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that the duo would be charged with five counts each, involving the alleged receipt and giving of bribes.

He added that investigations into the case had been completed, and both men would be brought to court under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
