SHAH ALAM - Commuters are urging Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) to improve Klang Valley train services to ensure smoother daily travel and reduce the impact of delays on productivity.

The call came as disruptions and malfunctions in the public transport network, including Light Rail Transit (LRT) and other train services, have become more frequent.

Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations (Fomca) Chief Operating Officer Nur Asyikin Aminuddin said the public needs clear information on Prasarana Malaysia Berhad’s plans to enhance train operations.

“Currently, if we look, disruptions occur almost every day and sometimes even more frequently, especially during peak hours,” she said.

She added that the new Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) line, connecting Shah Alam with surrounding areas, is expected to begin operations this month, and Prasarana must ensure services are reliable.

“We do not want commuters to continue facing operational disruptions because the impact is very significant, as it can affect the productivity of Malaysian workers,” Asyikin said.

She further urged Prasarana to prepare forward-looking mitigation plans in case of unforeseen disruptions to minimise inconvenience for the public.
