SHAH ALAM – The 14th KK Gojukai Selangor Open Karate Championship 2025 wrapped up over the weekend, celebrating its most energetic and internationally diverse edition yet.

More than 550 karatekas took part, including competitors from Syria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Singapore, alongside an invited referee from India.

This year also saw the introduction of two new contest divisions, Group Kata and Group Kumite, giving participants broader opportunities to showcase cooperation, precision and technical mastery.

The tournament was further strengthened by support from sponsors including 100 Plus, Nestle, Sun-Up, 7 Rings and Mighty White.

KK Super Mart Director Tee Kok Hiem expressed pride in the long-standing partnership with the Selangor Goju Kai Karate-Do Association, established by Master Yondan J Sithambaram and Coach Sensei S Prabaharen.

This marks their 14th year of collaboration.

Overall Champion: Johor Karate Association

The Johor Karate Association emerged as the overall champion, securing fifteen Gold medals, seven Silver medals, and eleven Bronze medals.

Second Place: Persatuan Karate-Do Goju Kai Selangor

Persatuan Karate-Do Goju Kai Selangor finished in second place, achieving eleven Gold medals, eight Silver medals and twenty-three Bronze medals.

Third Place: Bushido Karate Club

The Bushido Karate Club secured third place with eleven Gold medals, six Silver medals and eight Bronze medals.
