JOHOR BAHRU - Police are investigating a case in which the floor of a house in Taman Universiti, Skudai, caught fire on Saturday, allegedly linked to illegal moneylenders or Ah Long.

Johor Bahru Utara Police acting chief Supt Azrol Anuar Nor said a report was lodged by a 58-year-old man at 8.01am on the same day.

"Initial investigation found that the incident occurred at 4.18 am. The man said he realised the outer part of his house floor was on fire and discovered glass fragments along with a note believed to have been thrown by the suspect,” he said in a statement last night.

Azrol Anuar said the case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code.

"Members of the public with information on the incident are urged to immediately contact the Johor Bahru Utara Police headquarters at 07-556 3122,” he said. - BERNAMA
