Helmet attack on madrasa students caught on video, suspect held
A 4-minute 51-second video surfaced online showed a man striking a group of teenage boys with a helmet.

SHAH ALAM – Police have arrested a man following the circulation of a video showing the assault of several madrasa students at a commercial premises here.
Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Kasim Muda confirmed that a police report was lodged after the footage went viral on social media.
He said the incident is believed to have occurred at about 11.55pm on Sunday and involved a group of madrasa students and a man who allegedly attacked them.
“Based on the information received, police arrested a local man in his late 30s to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Kasim said the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a weapon, as well as Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
He urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward by contacting the nearest police station.
Kasim also reminded the public to refrain from making speculative comments and to respect the privacy of all parties involved.
