SAN FRANCISCO - The suspect in last week's mass shooting at Brown University was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Xinhua reported, quoting Fox News on Thursday.

Citing two law enforcement sources, CBS News said in an earlier report on Thursday that an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in the Dec 13 shooting on the Brown University campus in Providence, Rhode Island, which killed two students and wounded nine others.

The sources said law enforcement agencies are investigating possible links between the Brown University shooting and the fatal shooting of Nuno Loureiro, a nuclear science and engineering professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Loureiro, 47, died on Tuesday at a hospital after being shot a day earlier at his residence in Brookline, Massachusetts. - BERNAMA
