LONDON - Hollie Davidson will become the first woman to referee a men’s rugby Six Nations match, reported PA Media/dpa.

The 33-year-old Scot will take charge of Ireland’s clash with Italy on February 14 in Dublin.

She will also be an assistant referee for the final fixture of the championship when France hosts England in Paris on March 14.

Davidson, who oversaw the 2021 and 2025 Women’s World Cup finals, has previously taken charge of men’s test matches outside of the top-tier European Six Nations tournament.

"Refereeing in the Guinness Six Nations is a massive honour and a match I’m really looking forward to,” she said. "The last year has been very memorable, and I’m focused on continuing to perform well.

"To be the first woman to referee in the tournament is obviously a proud moment and an achievement I’ll properly be able to reflect on in years to come.” - BERNAMA-PA Media/dpa
