Hanifah steps down as PN Negeri Sembilan chairman
He said the decision was made with a strong sense of responsibility and in line with the principle of respecting the structure, hierarchy and governance of the PN organisation.

SEREMBAN – Following Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation as Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, a similar move has been made by the PN Negeri Sembilan chairman.
Labu state assemblyman, who is also the Negeri Sembilan Bersatu chairman, Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker, announced his resignation, effective Jan 1, 2026.
“I take note that my appointment as Negeri Sembilan PN chairman falls under the authority of the Malaysia PN chairman.
“Accordingly, I hereby announce my resignation as PN chairman with effect from Jan 1, 2026,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the decision was made with a strong sense of responsibility and in line with the principle of respecting the structure, hierarchy and governance of the PN organisation.
Hanifah also expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to all leaders, party colleagues, machinery and supporters of Negeri Sembilan PN for the cooperation, support and trust extended to him throughout his tenure.
