‘Let’s make it happen’ – Pas Youth welcomes Akmal's unity call
Afnan agreed that unity is crucial and forms the foundation of Malay strength.

SHAH ALAM – “Congratulations, my friend! Let’s make it happen!” said Pas Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden in response to the Umno Youth leadership’s call to jointly realise the agenda of unity.
Afnan, who is also the Alor Setar Member of Parliament agreed that unity is crucial and forms the foundation of Malay strength.
“This community will be strong if it is not divided. Politics must unite, not divide. The agenda of unity must supersede personal agendas.
“May there be a shining light,” he said in a Facebook post on Saturday.
The post was made following a statement by Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, who expressed his desire for Umno and Pas to unite in forging Malay unity.
Akmal said this while delivering his speech at the Umno Youth Special Convention held at Dewan Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL), on Saturday.
He said such unity is important to ensure that Malay political strength continues to be preserved amid the increasingly challenging national political landscape.
As such, Afnan Hamimi expressed his appreciation for the views of the Merlimau state assemblyman and also stated his readiness to cooperate in order to realise the unity agenda.
