Selangor FC appoint Kim Pan-gon as head coach

The club is confident that Kim Pan-gon will be able to improve the performance of Selangor FC’s first team and ensure the Red Giants continue to compete at the highest level.

SHAH ALAM - Selangor FC have confirmed the appointment of former national team head coach Kim Pan-gon as the new head coach of the Red Giants, effective Monday.

In an official club statement, Selangor FC also announced that former interim head coach Christophe Gamel has been appointed as the club’s new Technical Director.

“The club is confident that Kim Pan-gon will be able to improve the performance of Selangor FC’s first team and ensure the Red Giants continue to compete at the highest level.

“Christophe Gamel, meanwhile, will focus on developing the club’s coaching system and youth players, particularly the under-23 squad and grassroots development programmes,” the statement said.

Kim Pan-gon brings extensive experience in local football, having previously managed the national team from 2022 to 2023.

He previously served as head coach of Ulsan Hyundai, one of South Korea’s leading football clubs. – AWANI
