Veteran actor, singer Isma Aliff passes away
Isma had long suffered from health problems, but his condition had deteriorated over the past week.
AMPANG – Veteran actor and singer of the 1980s, Isma Aliff, whose real name was Muhammad Latiff Ismail, passed away on Wednesday morning at his residence in Kampung Melayu Ampang, Selangor.
The news was conveyed by a family member earlier, informing that the late artist breathed his last at around 8.30am.
“Assalamualaikum. Innalillahi wa innalillahi raji’un. Isma Aliff or Latiff has just breathed his last and returned to his Creator. His remains are still at home,” the statement read.
His younger brother, known as Angah, said Isma had long suffered from health problems, but his condition had deteriorated over the past week.
Isma Aliff, 62, was among the popular figures of the 1980s, appearing in numerous dramas, films and entertainment programmes, in addition to being active as a comedian and television host.
The late Isma had starred in several well-known works and was often paired with fellow local comedy actors during his heyday.
Previously, he had been admitted to Ampang Hospital after suffering from infections in the heart and lungs, and was placed in an induced coma on Dec 15, 2023. — AWANI
