The 22-year-old man was arrested yesterday and remanded for a day to facilitate investigations.

KUALA LUMPUR - Police have arrested the driver of the express bus involved in yesterday morning’s fatal three-vehicle crash at Kilometre 441.2 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) here.

Gombak district police chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the man, 22, was arrested yesterday and remanded for a day to facilitate investigations.

"Investigations are ongoing to identify the cause of the incident,” he said in a brief statement today, adding that the man tested negative for drugs.

One individual was killed and nine others, including a motorcyclist and a lorry driver, were severely injured in yesterday’s crash.

A police report was received about the crash at 7.45 am and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. - BERNAMA
