Nurulhidayah confident Dr Akmal will emerge as a stronger leader
She said it was natural for leaders to be tested as they progress.

KUALA LUMPUR — Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh is capable of leading the party’s Youth wing more effectively moving forward, said Umno Women’s Exco member Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid.
Expressing confidence in Dr Akmal’s ability to face challenges, Nurulhidayah said it was natural for leaders to be tested as they progress.
“Alhamdulillah, he remains very positive. When someone is on the path towards becoming better, they will be tested - mentally, emotionally and in many other ways.
“I believe he is on the right path and that these tests will make him stronger than he is now, Insya-Allah,” she said.
She added that Dr Akmal would go on to lead Umno Youth more effectively and emerge as a stronger chief.
Nurulhidayah was speaking to reporters after the briefing session with the Umno president at Dewan Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL), here on Wednesday.
Earlier, Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that he would meet Dr Akmal on Tuesday, following the latter’s statement that he would abide by decisions made by Zahid and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh regarding the positions he currently holds.
Meanwhile, commenting on the meeting between Dr Akmal, who is also the Merlimau state assemblyman and Zahid, Nurulhidayah said the discussion took place in a harmonious atmosphere.
“The meeting with the president went smoothly and I believe Akmal knows what he needs to do.
“He also understands how to steer the direction of the youth wing moving forward,” she said.
