KUALA LUMPUR – Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has announced his resignation as a Melaka state executive councillor (Exco), effective next week.

However, he has decided to remain in his post as Umno Youth chief.

The Merlimau state assemblyman stressed that he would never abandon Umno Youth, but was willing to step down from his position in the state government for the sake of the party’s dignity.
