KUCHING - The Social Welfare Department (JKM) will provide psychosocial support to the three children of a couple found dead in a house in Sri Aman yesterday.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the department will also consider other aid, including through JKM-managed funds.
"They are still in school, and our officers have collected relevant information about them.
"I was informed that the children are now with close relatives, and I hope they follow proper procedures by applying through the court as suitable and eligible guardians,” she said.
Nancy spoke to reporters at the ministry’s MADANI Adopted Village handover ceremony in Kampung Buntal, here today.
Yesterday, Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah confirmed a headmaster and his wife were found dead in a house at Jalan Brayun, Sri Aman, with severe injuries to their bodies.
Police said the 45-and 44-year-old couple were discovered by members of the public at 6.55 am.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. - BERNAMA
