Preschool to begin at age five, Year One at six from 2027 – PM

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during his speech at the launch of the National Education Blueprint 2026–2035 today.

PUTRAJAYA – Beginning next year, preschool education will start at the age of five, while entry into Year One will be at the age of six.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during his speech at the launch of the National Education Blueprint 2026–2035 here today.

Anwar said, however, that the change will not be made compulsory for parents.
