The by-election was called following the death of its incumbent Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin on Dec 5 last year. He was 66.

Bung Moktar had defended the Lamag seat for the second term during the 17th Sabah state election in November with a majority of 153 votes.

Meanwhile, Eddy Syaizul Rizam said there were 160 spoilt votes.

He conveyed his appreciation to all parties involved in the by-election, which he said went smoothly without any disruptions.

Ismail, dressed in a black t-shirt, was spotted entering the hall at 9.55pm and was joined by Sabah BN deputy chairman Datuk Jafry Ariffin. - BERNAMA
