KUALA LUMPUR - The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has notified its member associations and relevant confederations to immediately stay the suspensions of Malaysia’s (Harimau Malaya) seven heritage players at both domestic and continental levels, following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) announced the development through an official post on its Facebook page today.

"Attached is the feedback from FIFA regarding the CAS decision to grant the application for a Stay of Execution submitted by seven national team players: Facundo Garcés, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, João Figueiredo, Gabriel Palmero, Jon Irazabal, and Héctor Hevel.

"FIFA has informed the relevant associate members and confederations to suspend the sanctions against these seven players at the domestic and continental levels with immediate effect," the post stated.

Earlier, FAM had reported that CAS cleared the seven heritage players - who were previously suspended - to return to action after their application for a Stay of Execution was accepted. - BERNAMA
