KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Deputy President Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said he was not invited to attend a preliminary (pre-council) meeting held at the residence of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Thursday.

The Opposition Leader said that without an invitation, he could not attend the meeting scheduled for tonight.

“It’s not like that. The proper question should be whether Datuk Seri was invited to attend this meeting.

“I wasn’t even invited, so how am I supposed to attend?” he said when asked by reporters whether he would be present.

Earlier, media reports said the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Supreme Council meeting scheduled for Thursday had been cancelled and replaced with a pre-council meeting at Muhyiddin’s residence.

This was confirmed by Pas Deputy President Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

It is understood that the gathering involving party leaders was an initial meeting to determine the coalition’s direction ahead of the PN Supreme Council meeting to confirm Muhyiddin’s resignation as PN chairman and appoint his successor.
