SARA aid to be credited from today, frozen food category included - MOF
The ministry said that based on public feedback, the government has also expanded the goods category to include frozen food, thus making it 15 categories in total.

PUTRAJAYA - The Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) For All cash assistance, involving an allocation of RM2.2 billion, will be disbursed from today, benefiting over 22 million eligible adult Malaysian citizens.
The Finance Ministry (MoF) said that 22 million MyKad holders will receive the one-off RM100 assistance, and it can be used until Dec 31, 2026.
"SARA For All programme enables households to receive multiple aid depending on the number of eligible adults.
"For example, families comprising husband, wife and two children aged 18 and above will receive a total of RM400, excluding the monthly SARA assistance if eligible,” it said in a statement today.
The ministry said that based on public feedback, the government has also expanded the goods category to include frozen food, thus making it 15 categories in total.
The move also increases the number of goods that can be bought to 140,000 types of items.
The MoF said that in line with the New Year Address by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the government is targeting 10,000 small grocery shops as SARA merchant partners by the end of the year, while the distance from the nearest sundry shop to a recipient is reduced from 10 kilometres (km) to seven km.
Members of the public can check on their eligibility and the frequently asked questions (FAQ) via the official portal at https://sara.gov.my.
The MoF reminded recipients to be wary of fake links and scam attempts, emphasising that it never asks for personal information via SMS or WhatsApp, and any updated information can only be referred via the official STR portal. - BERNAMA
