KUALA LUMPUR - A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting and threatening a senior citizen following a minor collision at an area near the Pekan Suntex traffic lights in Batu 9 Cheras yesterday.

Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 69-year-old victim, a retiree, lodged a report at 4.49 pm claiming that he was injured after being assaulted and criminally intimidated by the suspect.

"Police arrested the suspect, a 52-year-old trader in the Kajang area at 11.30pm,” he said in a statement today.

The suspect has been remanded for two days to assist in investigations under sections 323 (for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (for criminal intimidation) of the Penal Code.
