SHAH ALAM - PSU Group of Companies has launched the Umrah Nur Al-Syifa programme, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative that will sponsor 100 selected pilgrims to perform umrah in Makkah and Madinah.

The programme is aimed at those who have never had the chance to perform umrah or haj before.

This year, the company is sponsoring 100 pilgrims from across the country, including converts to Islam, the underprivileged and individuals in the fisabilillah category. All participants chosen are first-time umrah or haj pilgrims.

PSU Group of Companies managing director Mohammad Arrief Mu’min said the programme reflected the company’s long-term commitment to supporting the spiritual well-being of the community.

He said the initiative aligned with the company’s core values, which emphasised balance between business success and social responsibility.

"We believe that the success of an organisation is not measured solely by financial achievements, but also by contributions that benefit society and bring us closer to Allah SWT.

"The Umrah Nur Al-Syifa Programme is one of our efforts to share our blessings and provide selected individuals with the opportunity to become guests of Allah SWT," he said.

He said the company has consistently allocated a portion of its annual profits for welfare programmes and the development of the ummah.

He added that he has also been donating part of his personal income since he was 20.

However, the Umrah Nur Al-Syifa Programme marks the company’s first large-scale sponsorship, with 100 pilgrims departing together to the Holy Land.

Through the programme, the company hopes to continue playing an active role in supporting ummah development and providing sustainable welfare initiatives for the community.
