TEMERLOH – Five people, including a four-year-old boy, were injured after a Tesla lost control and ploughed into three other vehicles in a four-vehicle crash on Jalan Tengku Ismail here on Sunday.

The incident occurred at about 5.30pm when the Tesla, driven by a 31-year-old woman, is believed to have veered out of control while travelling from Temerloh town towards Mentakab.

Temerloh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron said preliminary investigations found that the Tesla first crashed into a red Perodua Myvi.

“The impact pushed the Myvi forward, causing it to hit a Yamaha motorcycle parked nearby,” he said in a statement on Monday.

The Tesla also struck a blue Perodua Viva parked in the same area.

Nasyim said the 32-year-old Myvi driver is suspected to have sustained a fractured right shoulder.

Three passengers – including a 29-year-old woman – suffered abdominal bruising, while a 28-year-old woman and the four-year-old boy sustained minor injuries.

“All victims, including the Tesla driver, received treatment at the hospital,” he said.

He added that the motorcycle rider and the 43-year-old driver of the Perodua Viva were not injured as they were not inside their vehicles at the time of the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Investigations are ongoing.
