Two women injured after tree crushes MPV in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM – Two women were injured after the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were travelling in was crushed by a fallen tree at Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub, Section 7, here on Monday.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 12.11pm.
“A total of 12 personnel and officers, along with a fire engine from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), were dispatched to the scene, about four kilometres away,” he said in a statement on Monday.
He said firefighters arrived within five minutes and the operations commander reported that two women were trapped inside a Mitsubishi Xpander.
“Rescue operations were carried out to extricate the victims.
“One victim, identified as Nur Shahidah Abdul Aziz, 39, sustained injuries to her face and head, while Shareena Fairuz Abdul Manaf, 42, suffered injuries to her waist,” he said.
