Saudi Arabia says it shot down nine drones that entered its airspace

The drones were immediately intercepted and destroyed, the ministry said in a post on the US social media company X’s platform.

ANKARA - Saudi Arabia shot down nine drones that entered its airspace, the Defence Ministry said early Wednesday, Anadolu Ajansı (AA) reported.

The drones were immediately intercepted and destroyed, the ministry said in a post on the US social media company X’s platform.

Tensions have escalated across the region since the US and Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iran on Saturday, killing nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top military officials.

Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Gulf countries, which are home to US military assets.- BERNAMA-ANADOLU

World Falling debris in Kuwait kills 11-year-old girl
The ministry did not provide any details about the type of debris that struck the girl.

World Flights to evacuate stranded travellers in Middle East
Countries across the region shut their airspace as Iran retaliated against US allies, Qatar saying it had blocked an attack on its airport, one of the major hubs in the region.
