TMJ challenges critics to end his influence in football
His remarks came amid criticism from certain quarters who have accused him of being fully responsible for the controversy surrounding the suspension of seven Harimau Malaya players.

SHAH ALAM - The Regent of Johor (TMJ), Tunku Mahkota Ismail, has issued a pointed challenge to those who are unhappy with his role in football, urging them to seize the current moment if they truly intend to bring an end to his influence and credibility in the sport.
His remarks came amid criticism from certain quarters who have accused him of being fully responsible for the controversy surrounding the suspension of seven Harimau Malaya players.
TMJ, who also owns Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), said critics should not waste what he described as a clear opportunity to remove him from the football landscape.

“I would like to take this opportunity to call on all parties who are unhappy with me in the football industry. This is the time to completely end my influence and credibility in the local as well as international football industry.
“I have been labelled by the majority of rival team supporters as the individual fully responsible for the issue of the seven suspended players. I want to convey this to all of you. Do not miss this opportunity,” he said.
Earlier, TMJ revealed that certain individuals within the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) were allegedly orchestrating a sabotage campaign to portray him as the scapegoat in the controversy involving the seven heritage players.
According to him, the individuals concerned are believed to have harboured long-standing dissatisfaction after failing to exploit their positions for personal gain.
He also suggested that those involved should unite and mobilise their efforts across different channels if they genuinely wished to see their goals achieved.
“Immediately mobilise your ‘machinery’ in social media, mainstream media, governing bodies, legal avenues and others. I hope you can do better.
“Use this time and opportunity fully. Just talking or writing will not change anything. Please unite and work harder.”
TMJ added that criticism or comments on social media alone would not produce any meaningful change without stronger and more organised action.
