KUALA LUMPUR - Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has made it clear he will not return to working with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, signalling a firm break as he charts his current political direction.

Hamzah said his decision reflects a conscious move to move forward rather than revisit past alliances.

“I have reset. I told him I am ‘enemy number one’ and he is also ‘enemy number one’ to me. Why? Because I do not want to go back.

“I am like being at a traffic light, whether to move forward, turn left or turn right. I do not want to look back. So just forget about them,” he said.

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has criticised Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, describing the Bersatu president’s questioning of his meetings with several political leaders as childish.

He also pointed to developments within Bersatu, where several divisions have been dissolved and required to form new pro-tem committees, resulting in what he described as a more level playing field.

“When many Bersatu divisions are forced to form new pro-tem committees, if I take all the dissolved divisions to join me as pro-tem, they will also have to start with pro-tem.

“Now we are on the same footing. They cannot claim to be bigger than me and I also cannot claim the same,” he said.

Hamzah further highlighted parliamentary support as a key indicator of political strength between the two sides.

He noted that Bersatu’s representation had dropped from 31 Members of Parliament to 25 after several departures.

“Out of the 25, 18 support me, plus myself makes it 19. So out of 25, I have 19, they have six. So, think about it,” he said.
