Most states to experience thunderstorms and heavy rain until 9pm

MetMalaysia lists high-risk areas from Perlis to Sabah in its latest weather update.

KUALA LUMPUR - MetMalaysia issued a forecast that thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected across most states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur until 9pm today.

The affected areas include Perlis, Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu), and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim).

The same warning applies to Kelantan (Jeli, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang); Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu and Dungun); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, and Jerantut); and Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Petaling).

Similar conditions are expected in Negeri Sembilan (Jempol), Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, and Kulai), and Sarawak, including Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song), Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang.

In Sabah, affected areas include the Interior Division (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, and Tambunan) and the West Coast (Papar, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud). - BERNAMA
