Fire breaks out at illegal dumping site in Kapar
No casualties have been reported.

SHAH ALAM - The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) is battling a fire that broke out this morning at an illegal dumping site in Batu 14, Kampung Serdang, Kapar.
No casualties have been reported, according to Selangor JBPM Assistant Director of Operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar.
He said the department received an emergency call at 11.33am, after which a fire engine from the Kuala Selangor Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched and arrived at the scene at noon.
Ahmad Mukhlis said firefighters at the scene discovered that the blaze involved a pile of domestic waste measuring 10 by 40 feet, with two hotspots identified within the site.
"Firefighting operations are ongoing using two 300-foot hose lines, assisted by a GP885 portable pump from the Kuala Selangor District Council, drawing water from open sources,” he said in a statement today.
Ahmad Mukhlis added that the operation involved 11 officers and personnel, supported by a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) from the Kuala Selangor station.
He said the firefighting efforts remain ongoing to ensure the blaze is fully contained. - BERNAMA
