Man arrested after attacking police, damaging property in Kuala Langat
A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing a man chasing and pointing what is believed to be a knife at police personnel at a restaurant.

KUALA LANGAT - A man turned violent, swinging a weapon at police personnel and a patrol vehicle (MPV) in an incident at a seafood restaurant in Telok Mengkuang here on Tuesday.
Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said police received information about the incident at about 3.30pm from MPV personnel of Sector 4 Telok Panglima Garang.
Following the report, a police team was dispatched to the scene to conduct further checks.
“Initial investigations revealed the suspect had damaged items at a restaurant along Jalan Pandan 2,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the suspect also damaged three vehicles belonging to members of the public in the surrounding area.
“Aside from damaging three vehicles, he also attacked police personnel and a patrol vehicle,” he said.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and later taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
“The case is being investigated under Section 353 and Section 427 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act.
“Members of the public with information on the incident are urged to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the Kuala Langat district police headquarters operations room at 03-3187 2222 to assist in investigations,” he said.
