KUALA LUMPUR - A total of 10 areas in Peninsular Malaysia recorded Level 1 hot weather conditions, or the alert category, as of 4pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a statement, it said the affected areas include Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas and Machang in Kelantan, as well as Jerantut, Temerloh and Maran in Pahang.

Also affected are Kinta (Perak), Gombak (Selangor), Jempol (Negeri Sembilan) and Segamat (Johor).

According to MetMalaysia, Level 1 status is issued when the daily maximum temperature reaches between 35°C and 37°C for at least three consecutive days.
