Former newspaper editor found dead in car in Batu Caves

SHAH ALAM - A former editor of a local English-language newspaper was found dead inside a car parked outside a premises in Batu Caves on Tuesday.

The deceased, 66-year-old Joshua Purushotman, was discovered by passersby at about 7.50pm.

It is understood that his body was found in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle.

Gombak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohd Nasir said authorities received a call from the public regarding an unconscious man in a vehicle.

"Police were informed about a man found in a car parked in front of a restaurant in Batu Caves.

"He was later confirmed dead and the case has been classified as a sudden death," he was reported saying.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the death was due to a heart condition.

"Initial checks found no signs of foul play and the cause of death has been linked to heart disease," he added.
