Two siblings injured after being hit by car while crossing road in George Town
The driver did not sustain any injuries.

GEORGE TOWN – Two siblings sustained multiple injuries after they were hit by a car while crossing the road in an incident at Jalan Paya Terubung near SJK(C) Aik Hua on Tuesday night.
The incident, which occurred at about 11.10pm, involved an 18-year-old teenage girl and her 12-year-old younger brother who were believed to have been crossing the road before being struck by the vehicle driven by a 37-year-old local man.
Northeast District Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake said police received a report regarding the incident at 12.05pm on Wednesday.
Preliminary investigations found that the driver did not suffer any injuries, while both victims sustained injuries to the head, face, legs and hands.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Lee also called on members of the public who may have information or dashcam recordings of the incident to assist in the investigation by contacting the investigating officer, Inspector Lim Zhao Yong at 011-1907 8888.
“Public cooperation is greatly appreciated to assist further investigations,” he said.
