Family claims boy, 7, struck by police vehicle in Jerantut accident, probe underway
The incident has drawn public attention after a TikTok user known as Tasya, who identified herself as the victim’s sister, posted a series of videos detailing her younger brother’s condition.

SHAH ALAM - Police are investigating a road accident involving a seven-year-old boy and a vehicle driven by a police officer, following claims circulating on social media that the child has suffered permanent disability.
The incident has drawn public attention after a TikTok user known as Tasya, who identified herself as the victim’s sister, posted a series of videos detailing her younger brother’s condition.
In her posts, Tasya claimed that her brother, Muhammad Daiyyan Syahid, has been experiencing severe pain since the incident, which took place on March 23 in Jerantut, Pahang.
“My brother is in so much pain. He cannot sleep at night and keeps crying because of the pain and trauma,” she said in one of the videos.
She further alleged that the wound on his leg was very deep, claiming that only 50 per cent of the nerve endings could be saved, while the rest were damaged, which she said had resulted in permanent disability.
Her brother’s recovery is expected to take up to two years, she said.
Tasya also claimed that the accident occurred in front of their house, near their grandmother’s home, describing the road as very narrow and only wide enough for a single vehicle at a time.
She alleged that a police vehicle struck her brother at the location.
Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali confirmed that police had received a report on the incident.
“Yes, the Jerantut District Police Headquarters have received an official report regarding a road traffic accident which occurred on March 23, 2026,” he told Sinar Daily.
He added that preliminary investigations confirmed the occurrence of the accident, which involved a Proton Waja driven by a police officer and a seven-year-old pedestrian.
“Initial findings indicate that the child had suddenly run towards the moving vehicle before the collision,” he said.
The victim was initially treated at Jerantut Hospital before being referred to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh for further medical care.
Hasbullah stressed that claims regarding permanent disability have yet to be officially verified.
“At this stage, claims regarding permanent disability have yet to be officially confirmed and are subject to medical assessment and reports,” he said.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
In addition, the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) is conducting a parallel probe to determine whether there was any misconduct by the police personnel involved.
Police have also called on members of the public with information about the incident to come forward.
Witnesses are urged to contact the investigating officer, Hirwan Mamat Nawi at 017-9762843 or the nearest police station to assist in the investigation.
