Umno leadership gathers at MITC for MKT meeting, focus on election preparations
The meeting is expected to discuss preparations for the Melaka state election and the next general election.
MELAKA – Umno leaders have begun gathering for the party’s Supreme Working Council (MKT) meeting held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) on Friday night.
Among those seen attending were vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Melaka Umno chairman Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived at about 8.40pm before chairing the meeting.
The meeting was among others expected to discuss preparations for the Melaka state election and the next general election.
Earlier in the afternoon, Zahid also held a closed-door meeting in conjunction with the simultaneous opening of Umno branch meetings across Melaka for 2026.
