KUALA LUMPUR - Sinar Harian dominated the sixth Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Media Awards on Friday, securing first place in both the Best Article Publication and Best Social Media Content categories.

Journalist Muhammad Afham Ramli’s piece titled '10 tahun bermaharajalela' (10 years of reigning supreme) and Muhammad Hafiz Adnan’s video 'Penjejak Bayangan' (Shadow Tracer) each earned RM10,000, a trophy and a certificate of appreciation.

"This is a continuous recognition from the MACC for Sinar Harian’s anti-corruption reporting. This commitment serves as an inspiration to produce engaging articles for our readers," he said.

For Hafiz, the recognition brought a sense of relief as Sinar Harian successfully defended its title in the same category for the second consecutive year.

"The challenge of producing that video for Sinar Harian’s followers has paid off. I am very proud to have maintained this victory," he noted.

Sinar Harian Editor-in-Chief Zamri Rambli said the awards were deeply meaningful and would inspire the team to continue highlighting anti-corruption news.

In other categories, RTM took home the award for Best Audio Visual.

Azam emphasised that the awards serve as a vital platform to recognise the significant contributions of media practitioners in informing the public.

"It is not just a symbol of appreciation for the dedication of our media friends, but also a catalyst for reporting that is of higher quality, ethical and high impact.

"On behalf of the MACC, I truly value your tireless efforts in raising public awareness and shaping societal perception regarding corruption and integrity," he said.
