Two killed in three-vehicle crash in Kluang

KLUANG - Two men were killed while two others were seriously injured in a crash involving three vehicles near SMK Seri Lalang here on Sunday.
Fire and Rescue Operations commander Senior Fire Officer I Ramli Said said the two victims were found trapped and the team extricated them using special equipment before they were pronounced dead by Health Ministry's officials.
"The crash involved a Volvo XC90, a Proton Saga and a Toyota Vios. There were four men in the Toyota Vios, with two of them killed and two others seriously injured,” he said in a statement.
Ramli said the driver of the Volvo XC90 survived, while the driver of the Proton Saga, a woman, sustained injuries and had exited her vehicle before the team arrived.
"The injured victims were sent to a nearby hospital, while those who died were handed over to the police for further action,” he said.
Earlier, the Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 4.10pm and a Fire Rescue Tender and a Light Fire Rescue Tender, with a strength of 12 personnel from the Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Station, were dispatched to the scene.
The operation was concluded at 5.37pm. - BERNAMA
