Four Undang, Tunku Besar Tampin to skip ceremony, call for Negeri Sembilan state assembly opening to be postponed
The decision follows their declaration on April 19 to remove Tuanku Muhriz, as well as taking into account the current situation.

SEREMBAN – The four Undang (customary chiefs) of the luaks, together with the Tunku Besar of Tampin, will not attend the Royal Opening Ceremony of the First Sitting of the 15th Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN), scheduled to be officiated by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, on Thursday.
The matter was announced in a joint media statement issued at midnight on Wednesday by Datuk Klana Petra Datuk Mubarak Dohak (Sungei Ujong), Datuk Mendika Menteri Akhirulzaman Datuk Maarof Mat Rashad (Jelebu), Datuk Johan Pahlawan Lela Perkasa Setiawan Datuk Muhammad Abdullah (Johol), Datuk Sedia Raja Abdul Rahim Yasin (Rembau) and Tunku Syed Razman Tunku Syed Idrus Al Qadri (Tunku Besar Tampin).
They also advised that the ceremony be postponed until all customary and legal processes related to the transition of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan are completed.
The decision follows their declaration on April 19 to remove Tuanku Muhriz, as well as taking into account the current situation.
“We decree that based on the provisions of Article 10(2) of the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution 1959, the Menteri Besar has no choice but to comply with the requirements set forth.
“The authority vested in us is protected under Articles 71(1) and (2) of the Federal Constitution and Article 79 of the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution 1959,” they said.
Previously, Sinar reported that Mubarak, who was said to have been dismissed from his position earlier, did not receive an invitation to attend the State Assembly opening ceremony - a matter confirmed by his private secretary.
