Thunderstorm, heavy rain alert for 10 states until 6pm
Weather conditions are expected to affect several areas.
KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting 10 states until 6pm today.
MetMalaysia said in a statement today that the weather conditions are expected to affect the whole of Perlis and Penang, as well as several areas in Kedah, namely Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu.
In Perak, the areas expected to be affected are Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim.
On the east coast, similar conditions are expected in Hulu Terengganu in Terengganu; Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang in Kelantan; as well as Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Bera and Rompin in Pahang.
The same weather warning also covers several areas in Selangor, namely Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Kuala Langat.
In addition, Jelebu and Jempol in Negeri Sembilan, as well as Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian and Johor Bahru in Johor, are also expected to experience similar conditions. - BERNAMA
