Too filtered to find? Search for missing woman faces hurdle
Authorities believe the four-day operation could have been resolved sooner if the images used in the missing person posters had not been excessively edited.

CHIAPAS – Efforts to locate a missing woman were hampered after her appearance proved difficult to identify due to heavily edited photos on her social media accounts.
Police launched a missing persons investigation to trace Grecia Guadalupe Mendoza Orantes, 30, distributing her image across her residential area and online platforms.
According to The Sun, she was reported missing in southeastern Mexico on April 12 by her younger sibling, who feared for her safety.
A witness later claimed to have seen an armed man dragging Orantes in the Ocozocoautla area.
Police then carried out a large-scale search operation with assistance from Mexico’s Missing Persons Search Commission.
Authorities also raised concerns that the suspected abduction could be linked to a separate armed attack in the same area that left four people dead at a bar.
For public alerts, police used photos uploaded by Orantes on social media to create missing person posters.
After four days, Orantes was found safe on a highway, though further details were not disclosed.
The commission said one of the factors slowing the search was the difficulty in identifying her actual appearance.
Authorities believe the four-day operation could have been resolved sooner if the images used in the missing person posters had not been excessively edited.
